Dear All,
We are trying to live webcast the daytime occultation of Venus by the Moon on June 30, 2011 - if the weather permits. Presently a low resolution camera is pointing to the east of our Science Centre in Pune, India
Check the link below
http://www.astronomylive.com/channel/astronomylive-channel-1
The moon rises by about 04:50 a.m. Indian Std Time and the sunrise is at about 06:00
If the sky is clear you should be able to see the moon ~12 degrees from the Sun. Venus will be near the moon but visible only to good eyes, through binoculars or telescopes.
CAUTION: If you plan to observe it yourself, be careful NOT to point the telescope to the Sun by Mistake.
with regards
Samir.
