INVITATION TO "Science Fridays @ Stellenbosch"
 
Please join us for the launch of a new series of public science engagement
events at Stellenbosch University (SU) on Friday 20 February 2015 at 13:00 -
14:00 (snacks at 12:30) at CREST, 4th floor of Wilcocks Building; c/o
Ryneveld and Victoria streets, Stellenbosch.
Prof Peter Weingart, Research Chair in Science Communication at SU will open
the dialogue about "Public trust in science - why it matters and how it is
earned or eroded".
Science Fridays @ Stellenbosch is an opportunity for lively debate about
issues at the interface of science and society. It is free and open to
anyone interested in how science connects with our daily lives.
This series of public science events will be hosted by the Centre for
Research on Evaluation, Science and Technology (CREST) at SU. CREST hosts
South Africa's first Chair in Science Communication (SciCOM), as well as a
Centre of Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation Policy (SciSTIP).
