Open Learning is offering an 11-week course in astronomy led by
renowned UCT scientist Emeritus Distinguished Professor Brian Warner. <i

style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;" lang="EN-ZA"><font
size="3"> was designed by the late Professor Tony Fairall in
collaboration with Professor Brian Warner in 2006 and draws on the
material from the UCT first-year semester course, but it is not a UCT
credit-bearing course.</font> <o:p></o:p></span></font></span></p>

focuses on our understanding of planets, stars, galaxies and cosmology,
and touches on broader issues such as ancient beliefs and the

an interest in astronomy and physics who wish to gain more detailed
