<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Join the Soutpansberg Astronomy Club in Louis
Trichardt for an evening of stargazing on Saturday 24th September from sunset
onwards. Come and look at Venus and Saturn as the Sun disappears
below the western horison. Constellations on the ecliptic that
will be visible are: Virgo (Virgin) setting in the west, Libra (Scales),
Scorpius (Scorpion), Sagittarius (Archer), Capricornus (Sea
Goat), Aquarius (Water Bearer), and Pisces (Fish), rising in the
east. Ophiuchus (Serpent Bearer) is close to the ecliptic and is also
known as the Greek god of medicine. He is portrayed as
a figure holding a snake - which remains the symbol for
western medicine. Deepsky objects in these constellations will be
looked at utilising binoculars (don't forget to bring yours) and two
telescopes. Another target for the evening will be comet </FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>C/2009 P1 (Garradd) which is currently around
magnitude 8 and is visible in binoculars. Further
