                      number of nominations that Leiden University can
                      make for the NFP PHD scholarship will be announced
                      in September by EP-Nuffic.</font></span></font></div>

                      case the number of applications exceeds the number
                      of nominations that Leiden University can make for
                      the NFP PHD scholarship, the Rector Magnificus
                      will ultimately decide which proposals to

                  NFP PhD applicant does not guarantee the award of a
                  NFP PhD scholarship. To give you an idea: In 2015
                  Leiden University was able to nominate 12 candidates,
                  out of 16 applications, and received only 1 NFP PhD
                  scholarship.</font></div>

                  nominated 8 candidates and also received 1 NFP PhD
                  scholarship.</font></div>
