[AstroNet] DST Minister to visit Sutherland

It's time for Sutherland to make the headlines again!

Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will be visiting 
Sutherland this weekend!

 

This will be her first visit to Sutherland and SALT/SAAO.

Since the SAAO is a facility of the National Research Foundation she 
will be accompanied by a high level NRF delegation including the 
President, Albert van Jaarsveld. They will all be travelling to 
Sutherland on Sunday 6th September and returning to Cape Town on Monday 
the 7th - so the Minister will have a chance to experience the 
Sutherland sky (which could have a big impact on astronomy in general - 
hope it's clear!).

 

It looks likely that there will also be some big announcements made 
during the Minister's visit.  Will keep you informed.
