Birds? "Serene" motion in formation, streetlights shining up, localized
sighting, soon after sunset . . .

Pity she couldn't give more details - altitude, rough time to cross the
sky, were the lights point sources or disks, flashing or steady, etc

My first guess is the classic one: Weather balloons catching the last
rays of high altitude sunlight, maybe? Not sure if they are ever flown
in groups, though.

Ok, this might sound random ... but I had a call from a lady in
Hillcrest, Durban who with 4 other people saw a procession of 7 to 8
orange lights moving serenely in unison over the sky from a NE to SW
direction. She is the only person who reported this to me. This happened
on Saturday night 4 Sept. at 7 pm. Their brightness was constant, and
they made no sound whatsoever.

Anyone else report or seen something similar?

E.
