Hi all
Please see opportunity below regarding a scholarship in the Netherlands for
science education/communication, among others. The student/s will need to
be outstanding (high grades) since the scholarship will be highly
competitive.
Let me know if you have anyone in mind - it would be better to communicate
with our Leiden collaborators before any formal application process.
regards
kg

The NFP PhD is for professionals from one of the 51 NFP countries who are
unconditionally admitted to a Leiden University PhD programme. Leiden
University can nominate a, yet unknown, number of candidates for this
scholarship programme.
The number of nominations that Leiden University can make for the NFP PHD
scholarship will be announced in September by EP-Nuffic.
In case the number of applications exceeds the number of nominations that
Leiden University can make for the NFP PHD scholarship, the Rector
Magnificus will ultimately decide which proposals to nominate.

Nominees will be selected on the basis of:
• Statement of promotor (see step 3 NFP-PhD application procedure and
deadlines)
• The applicant’s motivation (see step 6 NFP-PhD application
procedure and deadlines)
• Best possible distribution of nominees per institute
• The connection with the aim of the NFP (see NFP website)

Please note that nominating a NFP PhD applicant does not guarantee the
award of a NFP PhD scholarship. To give you an idea: In 2015 Leiden
University was able to nominate 12 candidates, out of 16 applications, and
received only 1 NFP PhD scholarship.
In 2014 Leiden University nominated 8 candidates and also received 1 NFP
PhD scholarship.

For more information on the NFP PhD scholarship, the application procedure
and deadlines, please see the following website;

Candidates can apply for the NFP PhD scholarship via Atlas, the online
application tool for NFP scholarships between 1 September and 13 October
2016.
